Bargello Bracelet

Is it really herringbone? Using only bugle beads and size 11 seed beads, learn this innovative variation of herringbone stitch that creates a fabulous zig-zagging pattern. The completed bracelet is as light and flexible as fabric. Prerequisite: Knowledge of flat herringbone (Ndebele) stitch. (a slightly different variation of these instructions was published in the June/July 2008 issue of Beadwork magazine)

Stitch: Herringbone (Ndebele)
Beads Used: Size 11 round seed beads OR size 11 Delica beads; 3mm bugle beads; size 14 or 15 seed beads that match the size 11 beads (if using slide bar clasp); clasp -- recommended options: 1 Swarovski crystal button or any flat, 2-hole button (without shank), approximately 0.5 inch diameter, or 3-strand slide bar clasp; Nymo D or FireLine braided beading thread (size B/4 lb.)
