This mini-tapestry depicts a Navajo rug woven in the Ganado Red Style pattern.
A color key is included. The pattern is shown enlarged and also in extra large format.
The red-dyed wool of a Ganado Red Style is what many people love best in Navajo weavings. The red dye dates back to some of the earliest blankets and remains a dominant color in many of today’s rugs. The weavers usually have to trade for the aniline dye as it can rarely be duplicated using natural sources.
