Belly Dancer in Moonlight

Derived from the art of the Illustrative Orientalists of the late 19th Century, this is the eighth in my series of patterns on the art of Middle Eastern Dance. This is one of my favorites. Although the image lacks some of the movement of the others, I love the moon and mountains in the background as well as the appreciative gaze of the drummer. This pattern is done entirely in simple full stitches with no backstitching required. The entire pattern is stitched resulting in a smooth tapestry-like finished work. The DMC floss list includes color blocks for easier matching to other brands or floss you may already have on hand! This pattern is 200 stitches wide x 280 stitches long, the finished size will depend on the fabric you use.
