This is the third in my series of patterns derived from the enchanting art of 19th Century painter John William Waterhouse. This painting of the Lady of Shalot is known as "Half Sick of Shadows" and the weary boredom felt by the subject is perfectly captured and expressed by the artist's clever brush. This pattern is done entirely in simple full stitches with no backstitching required. The entire pattern is stitched resulting in a smooth tapestry-like finished work. The DMC floss list includes color blocks for easier matching to other brands or floss you may already have on hand! This pattern is 200 stitches wide x 276 stitches long, the finished size will depend on the fabric you use.
