The Pixies really struck gold when they opened the Wee Village Cheese Factory! All the Wee Folk love cheese and now have not only the ‘usual’ types ‘gleaned’ from the Big Folks kitchens but some rather exotic ones as well. The Pixies of course weren’t satisfied with what was available and proceeded to locate and then breed cheese plants especially for the Wee Folk. The very rare American Cheese Mushroom is usually sliced or shredded to make Wee sandwiches while the long stems provide a luscious cream cheese in older plants or chocolate flavored milk in younger mushrooms. Pixies worked exceptionally hard to develop the Longhorn Tree. Originally it was a Short Horn tree although occasionally one could find Bull Horn, French Horn and Curly Horn varieties. The Pixies now are quite proud of their Longhorn variety that has quite long, mellow tasting cheese that may be sliced, diced, or shredded. Perhaps the most infamous cheese plant is one most favored by the trolls in the Wee Village. When the unique black and white fruits are peeled like a banana, a really strong odor spreads through the vicinity. Humans call this ‘limburger’ but the trolls just call it ‘good stinks’.
